# Relax your body before you lie down to sleep. We all go through different situations during the day which will build stress in out body and emotions. Though we may usually not feel it, it is actually there building up its effects. There are matters that will cause lots of stress than others. Financial issues, health, safety and the likes are the most stressful events in life. If you come back home with lots of stress, then you don't expect to have a good night's sleep.Tinnitus seems to be worse when you are stresed. It will make matters worse for you by frustrating you due to lack of sleep. That is why relaxation before going to bed is very important. There are many methods one can practice relaxation at home. The most important point is always to get a quite place at home where you can sit or lie down and just let go of your stress. You must willfully and insistently get rid of bad thoughts and emotions from your mind. S soft music may help in direction your thoughts and emotion towards calmness. You have to feel your muscles relax to effectively say that you have done it right. If you still feel tense and repeatedly think about the events that made you stressed, then you may need a professionl help in managing your stress.

# Take a long, hot bath if applicable. This step may replace the first one if you have all the time and facilities to do it. But it can as well compliment it by extending the relaxation you started in step 1. After you rest and your body is relaxed, get in to the hot bath and spend a little more time continuing to relax and letting go of your stress. People have been using hot baths for many centuries to help them relax and for many other purposes as well. Water has a unique power to make us feel calm and happy.

# Get in bed and try to get to sleep naturally as possible. Tinnitus noise is not going to stop no matter what we do. But it may not be as bad when our body is totally relaxed and our emotions are calmed down. People these days are so accustomed to using sleeping aids that falling asleep naturally is being forgoten. You don't neccessarily need a sleeping tablet to sleep. If you have developed dependence to sleeping tablets, make arrangment to see your doctor to help you reduce or even stop using them. The main problem of using sleeping aids is the dependence it creats and the side effects of the medications, which might make tinnitus worse. If you have ti use a sleeping aid, make sure your doctor will prescribe you one that has minimal side effetcs.

# Get yourself a white noise generator. These sound generators are designed to help you mask your tinnitus. Instead of listening to the buzzing sound tinnitus generates, you will be listening to an alternative sound that will help you mask tinnitus. You can use a headphone or just use the sound generator adjusting the sound volume to a level you feel comfortable. This is by far the most effective way of having a better sleep when suffering from tinnitus. You can easily search for these devises online and buy them in a resoanable price.
