Well done for doing your civic duty and voting too. I was so lucky in the last NZ election, I didn't have to queue up to vote, I could just vote in the canteen at work! Having queues for ladies and men makes sense - such a simple, cost effective way to resolve an issue.

Speaking of work, it's interesting to read your thoughts on people who work in hospitals. I've worked in a lot of different organisations and of all of them, the people who cared the most about each other were the fire fighters. I did administration for Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service for three years, I really enjoyed it. They really cared about each other, it was a very supportive environment, like this one! I'm really looking forward to meeting my fellow contributors. Is there anyone you'd like me to say hi to, in person, on your behalf?
