If we had $100 to spend,
what would we buy ? Answers to this question won't just vary from person to person, they'll also vary from moment to moment — or, in the case of this story, month to month. On occasions when our finances afford us the extra $$$ that can be spared on non-essentials, the purchases we choose to make with it are both specific and dynamic. This is why our roundup of
R29's Shopping team's MVPs isn't a guide to what you
should deem worthy of spending a Benjamin (or under) on, it's just a shared list of
items that enriched our day-to-day in some type of way. All we hope is that, maybe, one or two can do the same for you.
Ahead, behold the under-$100
products we actually bought, used, came to rely on , and LOVE over the past 30+ days: from a magical mop that's
trending on TikTok to a pair of clog-flip-flop hybrids and a genius Amazon electronics' organizer. Scroll on to web-window shop, feel seen, inspired, fatigued, or just connected across all the noise. Oh, and please don't be shy in the comment sections below — we thrive on hearing about the gems you've carted for under one hundo that have made these weird times feel
just a smidge sunnier.
At Refinery29, we’re here to help you navigate this overwhelming world of stuff. All of our market picks are independently selected and curated by the editorial team. If you buy something we link to on our site, Refinery29 may earn commission.
Kimmy Scafuro Flowerfield Mug
"I am very into mugs — I keep an exposed shelf full of them in my kitchen and therefore only buy ones worthy of showcasing — and this beauty is my latest mug conquest. I found it hiding on Anthropologie (an absolute haven for under-$20 mug gems) and immediately added to cart. It looks even more picturesque in person, is nicely sized, and dishwasher safe. While the Daffodil style has sadly sold out already, there are a few other flower varieties left." – Elizabeth Buxton, Editor

Enro Solid Face Mask
"Yes, the CDC is constantly updating its policies and regulations, but at this point putting on a face mask is like putting on a pair of pants to me and I don't know if I can go back — especially with these super comfortable (and stylish) masks from Enro. After a long year of trying out different face shields, masks, etc. these are definitely one of my faves. They have adjustable straps, give my mouth enough room to speak, and most importantly I feel protected by them. I even go running in mine and I don't suffocate or anything. I would definitely buy again." – Alexandra Polk, Lifestyle Writer

Baffin Patio Clog
"I’ve been eyeing this rubber gardening shoe for almost a year — it’s a mainstay in our guide to the best clogs — so when I heard that Canadian outdoor brand Baffin was re-vamping and re-launching its best-selling Patio Clog, I finally pulled the trigger. While I was more of a fan of the shoe’s styling — the duck-boot-like upper and contrasting off-white treaded sole has that utility vibe that we’re all obsessed with these days — the design is also perfectly suited to its purpose. It’s almost like a clog/flip-flop hybrid; sliding on with the utmost ease and somehow staying put on your foot without being constricting at all. I don’t think I’d wear it on those marathon weekend days where my family spends the entire day at the playground and logs many, many steps; but it was the perfect thing to slip on during the work (from home) day if I was running to the grocery store, coffee shop, or out for a quick morning walk with my daughter. I also think they look SO COOL. (Sizing PSA: I normally wear an 8.5, and the 8 fits just fine.)" – Emily Ruane, Fashion Writer

Supergoop! Glow Screen SPF 40
If you need an incentive to wear sunscreen on the daily, I’ve got just the thing for you. Supergoop, being the masterful purveyors of SPF they are, came up with the most luminous lotion that’s ever bestowed my skin — and it has SPF 40. In addition to shielding my face from UV rays, it leaves the prettiest, filter-like dewy finish on my skin. Buy this!!" – Karina Hoshikawa, Beauty & Wellness Writer

Aerie Crossover Leggings
"I finally pulled the trigger on a pair of these viral leggings after Emily Ruane covered a recent restock of this previously sold-out powdery blue hue (I love a good powdery blue). I don't know if the Aerie Crossover's legendary waist-snatching powers are as potent on my rectangular shape but I like to imagine they add a little extra oomph — plus I also appreciate how silky soft and lightweight they feel, aka perfect for summer." – Elizabeth Buxton, Editor

MASTERTOP 360 Spin Mob Bucket
"For the longest time, I was a Swiffer gal, in fact, I still think that they’re great for cleaning hardwood floors. But, when it comes to my bathroom, I felt the need to get down and dirty and go back to the cleaning fundamentals: mopping. When I tell you this contraption saved my bathroom floors — I don't love it for the construction (it’s cheap), instead I love it for the price, the small bucket with the fancy spin wringer, and the fact that it fits in my closet no problem. I recommend this to all of my fellow small apartment dwellers and anyone who thinks mops are an antiquated form of cleaning. Set yourself free from semi-cleaned bathroom floors and get yourself a mop. My floors are extra sparkly." – Alexandra Polk, Lifestyle Writer

Sakara Detox Water Drops
"World, I’m back on my chlorophyll water BS — and all thanks to a TikTok trend (of course). A few years back, I went through a fervent but relatively short-lived phase of chugging bottles of the stuff; I loved the slightly minty taste and how it motivated me to drink water but didn’t love the single-use plastic. Enter Sakara’s genius solution: I put one dropper in a glass of water, stir, and voilà: Refreshing H20 with a side of health benefits. After regularly drinking the stuff for a month, I’ve noticed fewer breakouts and more energy during my day." – Karina Hoshikawa, Beauty & Wellness Writer

Etsy Vintage Curio Shelf
"Where’s Waldo? The MVP in this cluttered photo of my dresser is actually the little vintage wall-mounted shelf that I just scored on Etsy. Thanks to generous friends in the beauty industry and my own personal jewelry-buying habit, my bureau had become a hellscape of products and gewgaws that I knew could look intentional if properly displayed, and I wanted a vintage shelf to match the hodgepodge-y nature of my collection. I went sooo deep on Etsy with search terms like “display ledge”, “curio shelf”, etc., and found this tiny-but-mighty two-tiered wooden shelf from a New Jersey-based antiques and collectibles dealer . While this one-of-a-kind item is no longer available, you guys can still reap the benefits of my obsessive browsing if you go to my Etsy favorites page — I saved over 40 different mini display shelves before finally pulling the trigger, and most of them are still available. (I particularly loved this hand-painted butter-yellow spice rack.)" – Emily Ruane, Fashion Writer

RIXO For Target Blue Floral Puff Sleeve Lace Inset Swing Dress
"I am a huge fan of U.K. label RIXO's vintage-inspired printed dresses — but the steep $300+ price points, not so much. This is why news of the brand's recently dropped collab with Target was met, by yours truly, with unbridled glee. I ordered this here $50 frock (gasp ) immediately after the collection launched this past Sunday and it arrived with lightning speed in under two days shipping time. The line is size-inclusive, full of fantastically flouncy styles, and actually very nice quality. I was worried that the fabric might feel plasticky or heavy but it was surprisingly lightweight and soft to the touch. The fit, draping, and cut were also much better than I anticipated with no awkward pulling or gaping. I already owned one RIXO dress (snagged it on sale!) prior to shopping this more affordable collab and can assure you that the quality of the Target line is SPOT on. Amazon Clear Acrylic Makeup Organizer Tray
"After moving to a home with limited bathroom drawer storage, I decided to hunt Amazon for the most economical and aesthetically minimal countertop solution. I settled on this $13 clear acrylic tray due to its near 1k favorable ratings and close to $10 price tag. It's been game-changing for organizing my everyday essentials. Before this, I kept my beauty routine and toiletries all lumped together inside a cute wicker basket that always ended up looking like a hot jumbled mess — but now, each of my go-to products (including my toothbrush!) has its own neat and tidy place thanks to this gem's nine separate storage compartments." – Elizabeth Buxton, Editor

Crude Soapless Wash
"Last month I got real with you guys about how infrequently I wash my hair (and how it helps me justify spending lots of money on magical shampoo and conditioner) — so I was very curious about Crude, a “soap-free” line of washes that uses plant-based ingredients to cleanse and protect the skin. The soapless wash is made with aloe, and while it doesn’t feel much like soap at all, it definitely gets the job done — post-shower, my skin felt refreshed, moisturized, and not stripped and tight the way traditional soap can make you feel." – Emily Ruane, Fashion Writer

Urban Outfitters Palmer Linen Blend Ruffle Window Panel
"My bedroom needed curtains A. for privacy reasons and B. it's 10 times hotter during the summer in my apartment without them. Do NOT buy if you want a dark room. I specifically didn’t buy black-out curtains because I like natural light filtering in and having the sunshine in my room every morning actually helps me wake up on time. I definitely recommend it for anyone looking for pretty curtains that keep people out of their business and look extra lovely when the sun is out. They hang heavy enough to only lightly sway in the wind, they didn't come wrinkled or roughed up, and ugh, I just love dainty the ruffles." – Alexandra Polk, Lifestyle Writer

Miracle-Gro Plant Food Sticks
"If you read the shopping team’s recent-is online plant shop review, then you may already know I’m not exactly a green thumb. Naturally, when my snake plant started to look a little withered (I know — I deserve a medal), it was time to consult my plant-whisperer mom. Without skipping a beat, she recommended these Miracle-Gro plant food sticks; according to her testimonial, they successfully revived one of her leafy babies within an inch of death. Sure enough, within a few weeks of popping two little spikes into freshly watered soil, and I’m already seeing healthier happier growth. New Chapter Prenatal Multivitamin (Age 35+)
"Warning: some pregnancy-related TMI ahead! When I was pregnant with my daughter in 2019, I dutifully ingested the prescription-stretch iron supplements that my OB suggested I take for mild anemia — which resulted in a total shutdown of my digestive system that had me going no. 2 with an INfrequency that became uncomfortable ... and eventually painful for reasons that I will not discuss in this public forum. Now that I am expecting again, I’m anemic AGAIN (it’s a thing, according to WebMD ) but the discomfort that I felt from the previous supplements made me really reluctant to take anything that came from a pharmacy. At the recommendation of a mom friend, I went to Whole Foods and snagged New Chapter’s prenatal multivitamin, which is formulated with a type of iron that doesn’t wreak havoc on your colon — and my doctor is satisfied with my iron levels, which is really all that matters. In closing, I want to remind you guys that I am NOT a doctor and I am NOT supplying any medical advice here. I am merely a pregnant person who is sharing a personal choice that she has made. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk." – Emily Ruane, Fashion Writer

Beautiful By Drew Barrymore One-Touch Electric Kettle
Last Month's Top MVP:
"This pretty electric kettle is the product of Drew Barrymore's newest Walmart venture , a cookware collection she's aptly dubbed Beautiful . I snagged one for my kitchen after we covered its launch and am delighted by the dreamy sight of it atop my counter (as well as how lightning-fast it boils up a pot full of water). This pistachio-green piece only costs $40, if you can believe it — and, on top of its luxe aesthetics, it also boasts high-tech capabilities with a digital touchscreen that lights up when you need to use it and turns off when you don't. This could, in all honesty, be one of the best things I've purchased all year. It just dropped in cool sesame-black, oyster-gray, and icing-white colorways as well." – Elizabeth Buxton, Editor

Olive & June Nail Strengthener
Last Month's Top MVP:
"Despite winter being my favorite season (don’t @ me!), I’ll be the first to admit that the months of cold, dry weather have not been kind to my nails. I’ve tried various nail “masks” and am good about my cuticle care , but was still dealing with brittle, peeling nails when Olive & June’s new nail strengthener came into my life. It’s not like any other treatment I’ve tried before — you can use it nightly as an intensive regimen, or as a first step before polish. Feals CBD Extract
Last Month's Top MVP:
"Not all hemp-derived CBD products are created equal but many people still find and favor quality brands that haven't yet been evaluated or approved by the FDA . I can now count myself among them in swearing by one for helping me to sleep solidly through the night. If you haven't heard of feals, it's a membership-based CBD subscription where, prior to signing up, you can sample extract flights in order to discover which strength works best with your body. Its product is hand-harvested by farmers in Colorado and Oregon using organic farming practices and only contains full-spectrum hemp and USDA certified organic MCT oil (nothin' else). Pretty nifty. Since I've dabbled in CBD, I went with the mid-level 1200-MG — but, the under-$100 600-MG is great for beginners. The first night I tried it, I went a bit overboard and took down a full-dropper. This resulted in me waking up after 12 hours of sleep not knowing what day it was. So, the next night, I actually paid attention to the measurement markers on the dropper and took about a third of what I had before. This equaled a still-as-sound slumber session sans any groggy morning-after effects. I woke up feeling fresh and wellrested — which is a rarity for me! It's also worth noting that I usually take a third of the dropper 30 minutes before getting into bed and it hits me pretty quickly." – Elizabeth Buxton, Editor

Emily Deakin Designs Hermana Solo Ring
Last Month's Top MVP:
"I bought this unisex bronze ring after adding it to a Valentine’s Day round-up — it’s carved completely by hand, without a mold, so no two are exactly alike. It took a while to get here because it was coming from Spain, but I put it on as soon as it arrived and have not taken it off. It stacks so perfectly with my other gold rings and blends right in thanks to the warm color. (Brass can be really yellow, but this ring is bronze and boasts a rosy under-glow.) On the subject of brass and bronze — as a longtime wearer of both of these metals I know that they can both tarnish easily and stain the skin. Not so with this ring! There is sometimes a faint dark mark on my skin when I wake up in the morning but for the most part, it has remained totally tarnish-free." – Emily Ruane, Fashion Writer

Farmacy Honey Grail Ultra-Hydrating Face Oil
Last Month's Top MVP:
"I have sensitive skin (eczema-prone, easily flushed, struggled with perioral dermatitis for five years) — so when I find a product that actually harmonizes with my complexion instead of traumatizing it, it's a good day. I'd had Farmacy's all-natural skincare on my radar but had yet to actually try any of its premium products until Honey Grail. And, it's just as divine as its clever name suggests. It's pretty spot-on described as a "fast-absorbing, antioxidant-rich face oil for ultimate hydration and glow!" The little bottle features a serum-like dropper that dispenses a luxe oil that feels and smells like a lightweight version of honey — likely due to the fact that it's made with real honey, along with sea buckthorn and a five-flower oil blend (including omegas, vitamins, and amino acids). Since I've been using it in the mornings after splashing my face with cool water, I've noticed improvements; my complexion feels plumper, smoother, brighter, and, most importantly, soothed! A little goes a long way and I've got plans to lean on this product as a sensitive-winter-skin holy grail (or, should I say honey grail?)." – Elizabeth Buxton, Editor

Sam Edelman Lior Loafer
Last Month's Top MVP:
"My wardrobe almost exclusively consists of shades of white, grey, and black, so I try to incorporate color in my accessories and makeup. It’s widely known among friends, family, and the R29 Shopping Team that forest green is my signature color, so when I stumbled upon these croc-leather loafers, it was as if time stood still. I’d been in the market for cute, versatile loafers I could wear with everything (but would also upgrade any ’fit), and these Sam Edelman ones were deliciously marked down during Nordstrom’s post-holiday sale. I have very smol feet and am usually in between a 5 and 5.5, but according to reviews, the style tends to run ever so slightly large. I got the 5’s and they fit like a dream — no breaking in period required." – Karina Hoshikawa, Beauty & Wellness Writer

Quince Mongolian Shrunken Cashmere Sweatshirt
Last Month's Top MVP:
"As someone who prefers to spend under-$100 on sweaters, I do not own a lot of cashmere. If you can believe it, which I couldn't, this beautiful 100% Mongolian cashmere sweater only costs $59. The brand, Quince , pulls off such sorcery through its MTC-business model of cutting out the middlemen and directly managing all of its wares' production elements (from creation to packaging and transportation). This fabric is indeed SUPER soft and does not disappoint in feeling very luxe. I also love how the shrunken fit (I'm wearing a size small here) adds a bit of a sporty-90s vibe to an otherwise preppy wardrobe staple. I was worried that it might pill very quickly/easily over time — but, at this point, I've worn it a LOT (in bed, on the couch, in a car, while eating very crumby snacks) and can confirm that it miraculously has done no such thing. It comes in other colorways and, IMO, would make for major crowd-pleasing gift material." – Elizabeth Buxton, Market Editor
