Try to remember, dear Cancer, that while it’s easy to excuse big purchases and splurges this time of year, there are other ways of loving on yourself than spending more than you’ve got to spare. Letting those you care about in on your emotional experience can be a difficult negotiation, especially if you’re not sure how much you really care at all. A good rule of thumb when it comes to internal conflict is noting how long you’ve been sitting on a feeling born out of an exchange. If it’s coloring your ability to relate, if it’s underpinning the way you react and respond, then it’s more likely to burn the bridge than flow under it. And, if you haven’t already, you’re much more likely to find yourself compensating — bingeing in the few moments of respite you find and waking up burnt out without satiation. If you haven’t already, this week is a great time to take some intentional time off. Set some boundaries around when and how you’re available to others. Protect your weekends. And, if you find yourself on the other side of vacation grinding hard to make up for lost days, be easy on those gears. Pace yourself.
