All The Lifestyle & Wellbeing Products We Tried & Loved In April

At least once a week, the writers and editors on Refinery29's Life team get into a long Slack conversation about some cool new item that's been absolutely saving or changing or elevating our lives. So we decided to share the wealth, and highlight some of our favorite products and experiences each month.

Here's what we found ourselves eating, drinking, carrying, wearing, and decorating our apartments with all April long.

At Refinery29, we’re here to help you navigate this overwhelming world of stuff. All of our market picks are independently selected and curated by the editorial team. If you buy something we link to on our site, Refinery29 may earn commission.

Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream

"Winter has been hanging on far too long in Toronto (it snowed last week!), so I'm trying to bring summer vibes into my life, starting post-shower when I slather this candy-smelling cream from Brazilian beauty brand Sol de Janeiro." — Carli Whitwell, Director Of Editorial Operations

Inside of a Dog: What Dogs See, Smell, and Know

"Like most pet owners, I've spent a LOT of time with my dog over the past two years and have often wondered: What the hell is he thinking? My friend lent me this book about the psychology of woman's best friend and I can't stop reading and telling people annoying facts about pets." — CW

Saje Peppermint Halo

"I'm incredibly headache prone (staring at a screen all day doesn't help), so I keep this peppermint halo rub from Canadian brand Saje at my desk. I roll it along my forehead, temples, and the back of my neck, and it's almost instantly soothing, plus it smells like a spa. Win-win." — CW

BalmLabs Gentle Foam Cleanser

"I didn't start developing acne until the age of 25, which honestly has felt like a big eff you from the universe, so when I found a cleanser that was specifically for adult acne, I was overjoyed. This foam cleanser is gentle, but effective and has been the best cleansing option for my combination, hormonal acne-prone skin. Definitely a new staple in my skin-care routine." — Hannah Rimm, Senior Editor

High Noon Pool Pack

"As Refinery29's self-appointed RTD canned alcoholic drink connoisseur, I hereby declare High Noon's Pool Pack the drink of the summer. Featuring four flavors — guava, lime, peach, and, my personal favorite, kiwi, this summertime exclusive is absolutely perfect for summer sipping. It's light and flavorful and instantly transports me to summer, even on the dreariest of New York days." — HR

Talia Di Napoli Artichoke Pizza

"I love a frozen pizza for lazy Sundays or work-from-home lunches and this artichoke pizza really takes it to the next level. It's perfectly cheesy and the artichoke really gives it an extra savory deliciousness. I've been living on these all month." — HR

Talia Di Napoli Talia Di Napoli Artichoke, $, available at Talia Di Napoli

Universal Standard Pull-On Jersey Pants

"In a hybrid work world, every season is loungewear season, and these pants are the pants of the season. They are quite literally the most comfortable versatile pair of pants I own. They're perfect for feeling put together without being restrictive for work from home and I love that they are cozy and stretchy while still being tailored and clean enough to wear out of the house. I recently brought them to a spa vacation and wore them almost every single day. 10/10 never planning to take them off." — HR

Nike Hydralock Fusion Swimsuit

"Summer is coming, and I have never been more ready. Ahead of the best season, I got to test out Nike's new swimwear line, which is designed to support you as you get active on both land and sea. I'm particularly obsessed with the bikini top, which is super supportive and compressive, even for those of us with larger busts. It's the kind of suit that will take you from breast stroking to bumping during sand volleyball — without any fear of a nip-slip or too much bouncing around. Heck, I'd even feel comfortable jogging down the beach in it (towards the closest ice cream stand in proximity, of course)." — Molly Longman, Senior Staff Writer

Aveda's Returnable Shipper Program

"I tend towards extreme eco-anxiety, but am also a bit of a beauty junkie, who loves to try myriad products, which... often come in plastic bottles, much to my chagrin. But luckily, when it comes to hair care, I mostly stick with Aveda products. The brand is pretty eco-friendly in general, and, in time for Earth Month, I got to try out their recently launched returnable shipper program.

"To reduce packaging waste, Aveda sent my liter bottle of shampoo in a returnable shipping box (which was produced with a minimum of 35% recycled material) which I could send back to be reused (up to 20 times, and after that it can be fully recycled). The packaging was easy to disassemble and getting it out was super convenient thanks to a pre-paid shipping label.

"Anyone in Aveda's Auto Replenishment subscription program can participate in the effort, which made me feel just a little less stressed about my plastic usage." — ML

Mooala Bananamilk

"There's no lack of 'milks' out there. Cow's, almond, cashew, oat... 'Mushroom Oat Barista Blend?' I hate to add another option to the mix, but this stuff is flame. It's a delicious way to mix up your morning coffee — plus it has a cinnamon-y kick." — ML

TheraFace PRO

"This tiny device is just like Therabody's well-known product — the Theragun — but instead of releasing tension and soreness in your body, this is specifically for your face. There are so many attachments, from percussive therapy to red light to blue light to cleansing to cooling and heating, it's almost overwhelming. I love to use the percussive attachments to release tension in my jaw — I tend to clench while I stare at my laptop for 8 hours a day, and love being able to work out the soreness myself.

The most exciting attachment has to be the microcurrent feature — I feel so fancy when I use this, and I was this close to purchasing a NuFace device before getting this. I was gifted this product and get that the price tag is hefty, but for the amount of things the TherFace does, I think it's definitely worth it." — Elizabeth Gulino, Senior Staff Writer

Dr. Scholl's Ultra Hydrating Foot Mask

"I am not, and have never been, a foot girly. I don't like my feet, I don't like your feet, I don't want anything to do with them, tbh. One day, I was about to get my first ever medical pedicure and felt deeply insecure about what I had going on inside my sneakers. My foot skin has always been dry, and living in New York City and walking a ton hasn't helped them, either.

An hour before my appointment, I slipped one of these bad boys on my feet to see if it would help the dryness. And boy — it did. During my appointment, the pedicurist even commented on my soft feet, saying that they were nice and to keep doing what I was doing (reader, this was the only thing I was doing). I will swear by these for the rest of my life." — EG
