"I tend towards extreme eco-anxiety, but am also a bit of a beauty junkie, who loves to try myriad products, which... often come in plastic bottles, much to my chagrin. The brand is pretty eco-friendly in general, and, in time for Earth Month, I got to try out their recently launched returnable shipper program.
"To reduce packaging waste, Aveda sent my liter bottle of shampoo in a returnable shipping box (which was produced with a minimum of 35% recycled material) which I could send back to be reused (up to 20 times, and after that it can be fully recycled). The packaging was easy to disassemble and getting it out was super convenient thanks to a pre-paid shipping label.
