The Full Buck Moon In Aquarius Is Here — & It’ll Be An Enlightening Time For You

Cosmic beings, the date July 29th will stay with us forever. Enter: The Buck Full Moon in Aquarius (also knowns as Raspberry Moon, Thunder Moon, and Hay Moon). The aftershocks from it will be haunting and immense, causing us to sever ties with others and fight all the haters. Let’s just say, it’s an enlightening time to find out who is an opportunity and who is a trusted friend. More importantly, we are standing up for ourselves and defending our right to live our best lives. There is a lot to unpack — so let’s get to it!

Full Moons are the culmination of the monthly lunar cycle, allowing us to see how we can improve upon matters, as their glow gives us the gift of knowledge and intuition. The culmination of recent energy is an amplification of our sentiments, which need release. Therefore, it’s advisable to rest, unwind, and cleanse our space while manifesting our dreams by setting intentions.

At this time, the sun and moon oppose each other. The juxtaposition between the two (in this case, the sun in Leo and the moon in Aquarius) urges us to strike a balance between ourselves and our duty to others. How do we fit into the larger scheme of things? Are our ideals in line with who we are becoming? Putting our needs aside and giving back to those who’ve helped us in the past is a good idea, but what if they haven’t shown up for us? Do we still make them a priority? Now is the moment to decide.

Several astrological aspects on the 29th are enhancing the Full Moon’s vitality and prowess. The sun and Jupiter link up in the same sign, Leo, creating a “cazimi” transit (this happens when the sun infuses the planet with gusto). As a result, we are going to feel a surge of energy that expands our sentiments, which can be good or bad. Being that both the sun and Jupiter are moving up on the South Node of Destiny in Leo (the lunar axis of the moon switches signs on July 26th, with the North Node entering Aquarius and the South Node shifting to Leo), we may have dramatic responses to endings.

Docile Venus in Virgo squares the action planet Mars in Gemini; they are answering to Mercury in Cancer, which is in its retroshade phase following the retrograde that concluded on July 23rd. This translates to us wanting to attain our desires and commit to another (or think we do), but not being sure if it’s the right choice. Ambivalence reigns high on July 29th, leaving room for drama when others convey their frustrations (or vice versa). We are complex beings, so it makes sense that we’ll go back and forth. The saga might not resolve itself until August 6th, when Mercury clears its post-retrograde shadow. It’s okay to change our minds, as long as we are honest and do so with gentleness. All of these transits are just the cosmic sideshow.

Now, onto astrology orbiting the Buck Moon: One of the main astrological attractions of July was the Barbault Basket. The metamorphic transits connected four planets (Jupiter in Leo, Uranus in Gemini, Neptune retrograde in Aries, and Pluto retrograde in Aquarius) at the same degrees, forming a trapezoid shape in the sky between July 19th and 21st. Although several days have passed since the transit was perfected, we are still feeling the vibes. Historically, this has brought societal rebirths — after pivotal changes and rebellions. Since all of these planets are meeting up with the Full Moon, it’ll mark an unprecedented milestone and evolutionary moment. In our personal lives, we are closing and beginning new chapters.

The asteroid Juno in Aquarius aligns with the moon, illuminating the sacrifices we’ve made for those we care about. The caveat to Juno is that it doesn’t like to be taken for granted. If circumstances like that persist in any area of our lives, it’ll be the situation that irritates us. Fortunately, the centaur Chiron in Taurus is in proximity to the Full Moon, offering us the opportunity to mend our hearts, minds, and spirits in time.
