If you are going to be driving company vehicles, make sure that the company know that you are a Diabetic as it will have to be on their insurance forms
== Steps ==
# 1:If possible check your blood sugar before driving to make sure you are not too low.
# 2:Always have some sugar with you in the car in case of a Hypo.
# 3:At the first sign of a Hypo you should stop driving immediately and correct it.(If you are on a motorway Diabetics are allowed to park on the hard shoulder to correct a Hypo).
== Tips ==
* 1: Explain to your boss or supervisor about Hypo's and that you may need extra break times to get something to eat.
* 2: Always have some biscuits / sugar with you at work or a bottle of high energy drink ie:Lucozade.
* 3: Explain Hypo's and your condition with your work colleagues, they may be able to help you if a Hypo is severe. http://bit.ly/2LqKj66
* 4: If you are going to be driving company vehicles, make sure that the company know that you are a Diabetic as it will have to be on their insurance forms.
== Warnings ==
* A lot of firms will accept you as a diabetic and in my own experience they will not think anything of it.There are some jobs though which do have a blanket ban on them for diabetics and these are listed seperately.I personally have worked for four companies since leaving school doing a range of jobs including office work, operating machinery and driving and none have caused me or the firms I worked for any problems.So going to work with Diabetes is something that can be handled fairly easily
