Nowadays, moisturizing is a major part of my routine. And while teenage me would have never believed it, I've now hoarded quite the coterie of hydrating face masks. From milky creams to cushion-y water gels, the unthinkable (for me, at least) has been proven true a million times over: folks with oily, acne-prone skin can use hydrating masks, especially during the colder months. Here are six that I can't get enough of — and none of them break me out.
At Refinery29, we’re here to help you navigate this overwhelming world of stuff. All of our market picks are independently selected and curated by the editorial team. Drunk Elephant F-Balm Electrolyte Waterfacial
I'm a big fan of Drunk Elephant's Babyfacial, so when the hydrating Waterfacial hit my desk, I was pretty stoked to test it out. While it has the word "water" in the name, the consistency of this hydrating mask is more of a fluid-y cream that my skin drinks up.

Glossier Moisturizing Moon Mask
Did you forget that Glossier made masks? In case you need a refresher, Moon Mask is a dreamy mix of squalane, sweet almond oil, and hyaluronic acid, and is an amazing example of a universal hydrating formula that appeases even the most finicky of skin types. (i.e., me.)

Glow Recipe Avocado Melt Retinol Sleeping Mask
Glow Recipe's viral Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask is obviously a fan fave, but my personal go-to is actually the retinol-infused Avocado Melt. (I prefer to the non-retinol formula because of the extra brightening, smoothing benefits.) The texture is the thickest out of the bunch here, but it honestly feels so freakin' decadent that I can't help but love it.

Aesop Sublime Replenishing Night Masque
"Dehydration can affect all skin types, and may come and go based on lifestyle and environmental factors," Aesop As Innovation Director, Dr. Kate Forbes, tells Refinery29 of Aesop's new (and only) skin-care launch of 2020. "As the product has been designed to suit a range of skin types and to be worn on the skin for extended periods, the result is a light yet deceptively rich gel-cream with a soft, non-greasy finish that can be equally enjoyed by those with dry or oilier skin types."

Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask
You've seen it all over your Instagram feed, and the hype is real. Summer Fridays' first-ever product instantly hit cult status upon launching in 2018, and it's easy to see why. A thin veil of the creamy mask is all you need to wake up with bouncy, soft skin by morning.

Laneige Water Sleeping Mask
Overnight (aka "sleeping") masks are among the biggest K-beauty trends to make it big stateside, and Laneige's gel formula is a total OG. This was the first hydrating mask that I tried and loved because of its lightweight texture that readily absorbs and soothes acneic complexions like mine.
