All The Lifestyle & Wellbeing Products We Tried & Loved In May

At least once a week, the writers and editors on Refinery29's Life team get into a long Slack conversation about some cool new item that's been absolutely saving or changing or elevating our lives. So we decided to share the wealth, and highlight some of our favorite products and experiences each month.

Here's what we found ourselves eating, drinking, carrying, wearing, and decorating our apartments with all May long.

At Refinery29, we’re here to help you navigate this overwhelming world of stuff. All of our market picks are independently selected and curated by the editorial team. If you buy something we link to on our site, Refinery29 may earn commission.

Brooks Run Within Sweatshirt

"Typically, I love Brooks for their running shoes, but I'm branching out and have become obsessed with this sweatshirt. It's been a chillier spring, but not so cool you don't want something breathable, especially once you've warmed up. This is just the ticket, as it has strategic ventilation in the upper back that allows for extra airflow. It also has perfect little zip pockets by your hips to hold credit cards or AirPods that are easy to access while you're running. One of the product designers told me they were incredibly careful about the placement of these pouches, as most runners just want to be able to quickly touch and feel to make sure their essentials are still on them and then carry on with their run. This totally made sense to my anxious brain — I'm constantly feeling for my keys and Subway car to make sure I haven't lost them when I'm out and about. The last thing that completely hooked me on this jacket is... a literal hook on the back of the neck so you can hang-dry this piece after getting it all sweaty after sprints. — Molly Longman, Senior Staff Writer.

DAVIDsTEA x Milk Jar Candle Co. "Forever Nuts" Candle

"When I first saw the name of this candle, "Forever Nuts" I chuckled to myself. I mean, it sounds odd. But dudes, the smell is more delicious than any nut I've ever eaten. It's an aroma of yummy toasted nuts, sweet apples, and warm cinnamon. I later learned it's named after a flavor of tea, which is also delightful. I lit this baby up while sipping on its eponymous brew and reading a good book, and it was the best self-care night I've had in ages." — ML

Luna 3 For Sensitive Skin

"For the sake of my mental health, I've been on a real skin care journey over the past few months and Foreo's Luna 3 has been a real gamechanger for my overall skin health. I have psoriasis on my face and am prone to hormonal acne, and after using the Luna 3 for a month, I've seen improvement in both areas. I also absolutely love it for a facial massage and draining my sinuses during allergy season. I can't believe I ever lived without it!" — Hannah Rimm, Senior Editor

Crystal Head Onyx Vodka

"In case you haven't heard, it's the summer of vodka. From espresso martinis to the dirty shirley, vodka is back in action and ready to be shaken (not stirred) all summer long. This new expression of Crystal Head vodka is smooth and refreshing and looks cool as hell. This black skull will definitely live on my bar cart long after I finish the bottle." — HR

Baloo Living Stonewashed Linen Sheets

"I've never been picky with what kind of sheets I use on my bed, but I knew that I desperately needed a cooling set for the hot New York City summer. I've been sleeping with these linen sheets for a couple months now and at first, I was skeptical — now, I can say I'm 100% sold on these, and they've definitely gotten softer and more comfortable over time. I have the oatmeal color which is the perfect neutral for any bedroom." — Elizabeth Gulino, Senior Staff Writer

Vitruvi Move Essential Oil Diffuser

"As someone who has set off her smoke alarm one too many times because of candles, I've become more of a diffuser user to keep my room smelling fresh without the fire hazard. Vitruvi has always been a go-to brand for me, but the Move diffuser has been blowing me away due to the fact that it, well, moves. It's cordless, so I can place it anywhere I want at any time, no matter how far away my outlets are. It's a truly a game changer for essential oil lovers everywhere." — EG

Adidas Soccer Ball

Full disclosure: I didn't buy this soccer ball. My mom did...for my six-year-old nephew. But when I was home for Mother's Day kicking it around with him, my Bend It Like Beckham moves coming back to me like it was 2002 all over again, I felt lighter than I had in years. Here comes my old-is-new-again park hobby. — Carli Whitwell, Director of Editorial Operations

Sidia Braless Candle

Braless is my WFH middle name, so I knew this candle and I were meant to be. That, plus its musky-spicey-amber-y scent is enough to relax me during those 9-5 hours when my shoulders are up to my ears and I'm heading to hour seven of straight meetings with nary a snack break in sight. — CW

Knix Micro Modal Rib Bralette

Okay, okay, I know I just said I don't wear bras at home, but this bralette from the new Knix x Ashley Graham collection made of super breathable modal and spandex is so comfortable you can sleep in it. I DARE YOU. — CW
